How to Grow
Kids Aged 5 to 14?
Clear a growing space with good drainage
Fork over the turf, removing large roots
Lay down a think layer of newspaper or card
Mark out beds and paths approximately 80cm wide
Layer beds with a mix of compost and topsoil
Seeds like to germinate in warmth and the dark
Bury seedlings in damp soil deeply and securely
Legumes and other plants will need support structures
Regularly remove pods when young and easily snapped off
Remove outer leaves, new ones grow from the centre
Dig around to loosen soil before pulling from the base
Seed pods appear after flowers, harvest when dry and crisp
Balance greens (high nitrogen) and browns (high carbon) in a ratio of 2:1
Keep damp, turn once a week and wait!
